Indoor Timber Products

Neuf indoor timber products are constructed from high quality premium European birch ply with reclaimed Australian timber legs (where applicable). They are designed to ensure durability according to purpose. 

Products are finished with high quality hardwax oil which brings out the natural qualities of the timber. Where applicable items are coloured with a complementary stain.  Both oil and stain are natural and non-toxic.

The finish is resistant to both moisture and stains, but is penetrable. 

Accordingly:

• Avoid sitting, standing or otherwise putting excessive weight on products (other than the neuf step, of course) as this may cause damage and issues with functionality of drawers and doors
• Surfaces should be wiped regularly with a soft cloth to remove accumulated dust and dirt
• If liquid is spilled on a surface, it should be wiped away with a soft damp cloth as soon as possible
• Avoid placing hot objects directly on timber surfaces
• Keep the whole piece out of direct sunlight as timber may discolour
• Avoid exposure to excessive humidity (such as in bathrooms and laundries) as this can cause timber to warp
• Don’t use any industrial cleaners on the timber as they will cause damage to the finish

 

Wooden Chopping/Serving Boards

Neuf wooden chopping and serving boards are made from locally sourced recycled timber salvaged from renovation and building projects in and around Melbourne.

They are crafted at our workshop and finished with three applications of natural board oil.

To care for the board:

• wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use
• wash with warm soapy water when required
• rejuvenate monthly with chopping board oil (available at all good hardware stores)
• DO NOT immerse in water
• NEVER put a wooden board in the dishwasher
